100 heads challenge

Over the past few months, I took on @dmaxart 100 Heads Challenge. I sculpted around 2 to 3 heads a week and made it to 22/100. I decided to stop this challenge to concentrate on different goals. I feel I learnt a lot from this experience and it was time to learn new stuff.
Here’s what I learned from the experience:

1. Consistency is everything.
You can take all the courses in the world, but if you’re not practicing consistently, you won’t improve. I saw more progress in head sculpting in those 12 weeks than in my entire career just by showing up regularly.

2. Trust yourself.
During the first 15 minutes, I hated every sculpt. But everytime, by the 30-minute mark, things started clicking. And around 40 minutes, the likeness would suddenly become clear. That moment was very satisfying.

3. Presentation matters just as much as the sculpt.
A flat ZBrush screenshot with a basic material won’t do your work justice. The first time of this challenge I rendered a head in Marmoset, it popped 10x more. Put as much effort into your presentation as your sculpt.

4. Fun first.
At first, I was loving every minute. But by head 17 or 18, it started to feel like a chore. That’s when I knew I needed to switch things up. If it stops being fun, find something that reignites your spark.
